What Is A Full Spectrum Oil

Q. What is a full spectrum oil, and why do I keep hearing about it?

A. A full spectrum oil is a term used to describe the quantity and variety of constituents that comprise the oil in question. It is a term often used to to point out that "this particular product, or oil in question" is more natural. Being comprised of the numerous constituents generally found within the plant naturally, or being a closer representation to the fullest array of oil constituents possible.

A full spectrum oil differs from a broad spectrum oil in that, a full spectrum consists of natural constituents A, B, C, D, E, F, G, a, b, c, d, e, and f. Where as the broad spectrum oil for example, only contains A, C, F, d, and e.

In another example a full spectrum oil differs from an "isolate" in that the full spectrum oil is comprised of these many different constituents A, B, C, D, E, F, G, a, b, c, d, e, and f; but an isolate is only and entirely a single constituent, A for example.

A full spectrum oil is generally regarded as better than either a broad spectrum oil or an isolate in that it is generally understood that having the full gamut of constituents is going to result in higher bioavailability and effectiveness.

This is a general understanding of full spectrum, and must be applied in context when considering the true value of a product in question.

An example of a full spectrum oil:

Crude oil, as well as a distillate that retains the full gamut of cannabinoids and terpenes one may be after.

An example of a broad spectrum oil:

A cannabis oil, and product of distillation that is comprised of 95% CBD, 1% CBN, 1% CBG, 3% Terpenes, and lacks THC as well as a great many other constituents.

An example of an isolate:

Might be a 99.99% pure CBD isolate.

Having the full array of terpenes present in an oil is paramount to being able to call that oil full spectrum, and will do well to vastly improve the value of that particular extract. Being able to select and add a strain specific terpene profile to a cannabinoid rich extract will allow you to taylor that full spectrum oil to your needs or liking.
